A fire-damaged house drew competitive bids that resulted in the hammer coming down at a top price during the latest SDL Auctions Bigwood auction in Birmingham.

There was more than £16 million raised at the auction at Villa Park on 14 December, which included a wide range of properties from across the West Midlands.

Network Auctions has reported an 82% sales result raising £3.4m in its last sale of the year on December 7th marking a record beating year for the company.

The sale included some notable results with a building plot in North London achieving a hammer price of £210,000 against a reserve of £110,000, a semi-detached house in Bristol with a late addendum relating to Japanese Knotweed selling for £434,000 against a guide of £360-370,000, and a bidding war for a parcel of land in Feltham which saw an astonishing hammer price of £17,000 off a guide of £2-3,000.

An historic church and its neighbouring church hall were two of the notable sales in SDL Auctions Graham Penny’s latest auction in Derby on 15 December.

The Church Hall fronting Market Street in Swadlincote sold for £81,000, from a *guide price of £40,000+, while the adjoining Methodist Church on West Street, which dates back to the reign of King George III, saw the hammer come down at £56,500 from a guide price of £40,000+.

The final Cheffins property auction of the year saw development and investment lots sell for premium prices on Wednesday 6th December. Hosted at the firm’s salerooms in Cambridge, the sale grossed over £2.75m across eleven lots including land, investment opportunities and residential homes.

More than £19m has been raised by SDL Auctions Graham Penny in its Nottingham property auctions across 2017 – up by £1.5m on 2016.

The impressive revenues, raised from seven auctions held at Nottingham Racecourse during the last 12 months, are higher than any competing auction business in the city.
