The Coronavirus pandemic has driven a positive change in the auction industry which will remain, even after a return to room sales, according to auctioneers at Auction House London. It’s recent sale (Tues 15 September 2020) swept to its finish with an 83% success rate, having listed 107 lots for sale and raising over £22m (£22,085,350) – the largest amount for two years.

Bond Wolfe Auctions’ latest live streamed auction saw another remarkable result with a 95% success rate, selling 196 of the 207 lots offered for a total of £18,779,150.

It is Bond Wolfe Auctions’ second most successful sale ever in its three year history, only beaten by the February 2020 total of over £20 million.

Chief executive Gurpreet Bassi said: “We had 25,000 viewing the auction live during an 11 hour sale which attracted over 2,000 registered bidders – it was hectic!”

Demand for commercial property at auctions continues to grow, according to Bond Wolfe Auctions managing director Ian Tudor.
