Brendons Auctioneers, the London-based property experts, predict that the party with the best policies on property could well triumph at next month’s general election.

The state of the nation’s housing has never been so high profile, whether it’s the new home shortage, regulating landlords, tax on larger properties or increasing inheritance tax thresholds on family property, pretty much every aspect of buying, renting and selling has come under the scrutiny of the political parties’ policy makers.

With a 99% increase in auction sales last year, Brendons Auctioneers are well placed from their

The first property we'd like to share this morning, is this  4/5 bed detached bungalow in a sought after Flintshire village. It may appear fairly 'normal' at first glance, but it caught our interest due to its flexibility, and therefore the wide pool of interest it could potentially gather.

It's for improvement, so will need work whatever the chosen approach, but personally we find the existing bungalow rather pretty and our instincts would be to see the property undertake a straightforward refurbishment. It may also appeal to a builder or developer, seeking planning consent to demolish the

If you're thinking about buying a tenanted property, there are a number of things to consider.

Firstly, it is recommended that you instruct a conveyancer who is experienced in dealing with purchases that are subject to an ongoing tenancy. Whilst the process for transferring the title deeds is the same, some additional work will be required of your solicitor.

Secondly, if you are relying on mortgage finance for the purchase, you will require a buy to let mortgage – residential mortgages are not suitable for tenanted properties.

A lack of sellers and a huge surge in the number of people looking to buy a home has pushed the average asking price of homes coming on to the market in April up to an all-time high of just over £286,000.

The report from Rightmove further highlights Britain’s housing crisis and comes in the wake of a series of announcements by party leaders that have made property a key election theme.

March was the property portal’s busiest ever month since its launch in 2000, with the number of people looking at homes up 20% year-on-year. However, at the same time the number of new sellers listing on the

Award-winning brand Auction House has just released impressive first quarter results for 2015, successfully selling a total of 611 lots in the first three months of the year - outperforming all other UK auctioneers.

The group offered 816 lots in the period, equating to a success rate of 75%, and raising a total of £69 million.

Commenting on the figures, Auction House Founding Director Roger Lake said: “Yet again, Auction House’s Q1 results are unmatched by any other auctioneer in the country. We’re particularly pleased that the group is performing so well in these months of uncertainty just

So after a fairly crazy busy week of new catalogue releases, we've a couple of properties in particular to bring to your attention.

The first one is a totally stunning character cottage with original features. Really pretty.  Located in a lovely location in Dorset, this three bedroom property benefits from a gated parking area accessed via a gravelled driveway, steps to raised garden and patio backing onto farmland and garden shed.

You can view the property in our database HERE.

Now, there's nothing really profound to say about the second one. Basically, it’s a 3 room ground floor flat for

Snooker legend Jimmy White has said he is not leaving Epsom even though he has put his £700,000 house up for auction.

White, 52, nicknamed the Whirlwind for his skills on the snooker table, has lived in the town for 14 years.

A spokeswoman for local Cairds Estate Agents, said White's house, worth £725,000, has been on the market since January and "we don’t know why it hasn’t sold".

She said that White only decided to put it up for auction at the end of last week. The minimum asking price is £595,000.

The spokeswoman said: "He’s trying all the angles to get it sold.

"He is just moving on. His

The Calwich Abbey Estate has been put on the market.

The derelict remains of a once grand stately home have been put up for sale as part of a 200-acre estate.

The Calwich Abbey Estate, near Ellastone, is due to go under the hammer in May, offering 209 acres of agricultural and sporting land – along with part of the former Victorian mansion that stood on the site of a former abbey.

Listed under lot one of the sale, by Ashbourne property firm Bagshaws, is a 20-acre plot, formal gardens, a lake and a huge building that was once a grand stable block and servants' quarters to a house demolished in

Although it may not look like much at first glance, this property in Cornwall really is quite the opportunity for an investor, builder or developer!.

A 4 bedroom house in need of modernisation - that's the normal bit - but the unique feature and big perk with this purchase is that it's also inclusive of a plot of land with planning permission to build a 3 bedroom property, and sufficient garden and off road parking available for both houses to have a share once the second is built.

Whoever buys this is getting quite a lot for their money with this one, although we think that it will attract
