There’s still time for house-hunters to benefit from stamp duty savings if they find their next home in the next National Property Auction held by SDL Property Auctions on Thursday 27th May.

More than 90 years after it first opened, the curtain is set to rise on a new future for the old Windsor Theatre in Smethwick as it comes up for sale with Bond Wolfe Auctions this month, with a price tag starting at £475,000.

The landmark building will have star-billing at Bond Wolfe Auctions’ record-breaking sale on Wednesday 19 May in the largest property auction ever held outside of London.

The former theatre, at 377-379 Bearwood Road, has played many roles over the years, from cinema and ice rink to snooker hall and nightclub.

A former church with “one of the best views” across a rural valley in northern Scotland is appearing at Bond Wolfe Auctions’ next live-streamed auction on Wednesday 19 May.

The historic Kirkton of Alvah Church, in the village of Alvah, near Banff, in Aberdeenshire, is going under the hammer with a guide price* of £49,000+.

The church was built in 1792 but closed in 1970 by the Church of Scotland and has since received planning permission for conversion into a four or five bedroomed house and has been cleared internally in preparation of its full development.

A parade of high-profile Sheffield shops, and a bungalow in one of the ‘best plots in the area’, both of which sold for nearly twice their guide prices, saw Mark Jenkinson and Son’s April auction hit sales of £5.25m.

In the third online auction of the year – described by the auctioneer as ‘exceptional’ – 27 of the 30 lots sold for £5.25m, after a total of 1,134 bids were made by 123 bidders.

The top price of the day was £750,000 for the parade on Chesterfield Road, Woodseats. The shops – three of which are let, and all requiring varying degrees of refurbishment – had a guide price of £400

The block of five retail shops at 4-16 Brook Square, Rugeley, which comes with plenty of extra accommodation on the first and second floors, has a guide price* of £475,000+.

The property currently has a gross income of £24,700 per annum, and this could rise to an annual total of £90,000 once fully let, which would represent a healthy yield of nearly 19% based on the guide price.
