Today I've got something a little different to show you. Rather than something ready to move into or a property in need of a little tlc, instead I've got a redevelopment opportunity. So lets head for Somerset and take a closer look...

Ok, so this one won't appeal to as many folks, but I'm sure there are still plenty that dream of a more involved project property. So, for any developers and investors looking to make some profit, or for enthusiastic owner occupiers seeking a challenge, this is an excellent opportunity to take some fantastic looking stone barns and renovate them using the planning permission in place for conversion to residential accommodation.

Now, I know they perhaps don't seem much to look at right now, but if you take a moment to apply a little imagination, it doesn't take much to spot the potential here. The shape, size, and brill open roof space all give a great framework on which to develop the ideal home. While there is current planning permission for the larger barn to be converted to a two storey, two bedroom home, and the smaller for conversion into a single storey two bedroom property, there may be scope for the more adventurous folks to consider if they would develop them differently.

You'd need to make your own enquiries of course, but I could see plenty possibility for even developing the main barn into your house, and the smaller barn into something else for your own use rather than a second house. Perhaps a workshop? With the properties set around a yard area, and paddock land included as well, there may be a great opportunity here for working from home. Whether that's some kind of gardening, equestrian, or handicraft business... or maybe something else, there is a lot of ways this property can bend and flex around your wants and needs.

So yes, this one needs work done... a LOT of work. But the more involved you are in the creation of the property, the more it can be tailored to be just the way you want, and the end result will be far more in keeping with your tastes and preference. Not everyone gets the chance to create a property that is a true reflection of that perfect home they dream of, but here is an excellent chance to take that leap and get the end result your really want. Sure beats having to compromise when you find properties that tick most of the boxes, but find that all of them require some form of sacrifice.

And lastly, I need say little about it's potential for the more experienced investors and developers. You will know far better than I do, it's an excellent redevelopment project, and for you it leads to creation of a pair of properties ideal to sell on or let out for profit or income. It's going to look fantastic when the work is complete. I'l be surprised if this one isn't snapped up by a seasoned developer/investor or a brave newbie :-)
