Where in the UK are my Future Auction HOT PICKS today?
So today it's over to Surrey for a peek at an incredible 5 bedroom property that has been done up to a very high standard inside. It is nothing short of gorgeous both inside and out!
This charming residential property is in a wonderful secluded location, set back no less than 120m behind mature woodland, and approached by a fabby sweeping driveway. Given how grand the property is, it seems in keeping that it has such an equally grand approach!
Now, there are only a few internal shots with this one, but wow, they really do show off some gorgeous living space!
The kitchen is modern, large, and very very pretty. I love that large modern range style cooker, and the room overall looks great with the combination of black worktops, white units, pale tiled floor, and the fab white tile splashback with the occasional splash of colour from a blue tile! It's a very attractive space in which to cook, bake, and spend time together.
Equally so, the dining space is a very good size, and is a great combination of neutral decor and nature from those wonderful woodland views on show out the large bay window. I love the choice to use the dark tassled rope in place of a wall bannister with the staircase as well, and also that pretty wooden beam. Whoever designed/decorated this property had a very good eye, and it seems to be a common theme throughout... neutral, plus nature, with a small splash of colour or quirky feature to draw your eye. It is a combination that works incredibly well :-)
Lastly, we well take a peek at the reception room with such a quirky little feature fireplace. Yet again we are seeing the combination of neutral colours, with all that wonderful nature and woodland outside the windows, and the fireplace is the feature in here which draws your attention. That polished copper hood on the fireplace is both functional, and very very pretty! The choice to paint the exposed brickwork white, but to use black where the fireplace is inset, was an inspired decision, and looks incredible. That is a fireplace that you want to use, and to love as the fire crackles and warms the room on cold winder nights.
This is imposing property is ready to move right into, and while we have not seen any images of upstairs, I am in no doubt that those rooms will be of the same high standard as the stunning living space downstairs. It is a beautiful family home, and comes with one more little extra feature. There is a 2 bedroom self contained annex with this property. An ideal space for guests to stay in, or for dependants and loved ones to have independence while close at hand.
Coming with two double garages, there is even an office/cinema above the former stables, now used for storage and adjoining the garages. This is a property that has been well thought out. There is something for everyone in a fabby family home like this one. I'm sure there may be some kind of means for investors to make the most of this one as well, so I doubt it will only be owner occupiers present on auction day!
Now, it's over to Essex, and a Grade II listed Manor House for refurbishment. This one needs to be seen to be believed folks...the property has 10 bedrooms... yes, you read that correctly, it has 10!
Ok, so most people will not be looking for quite such a large property, but when you take into account some of the features and extras here, there may be potential(all stpp of course!) for some kind of sub-division, or use as a hotel/B&B perhaps? So bear with me, as there will be a wide variety of people this one could be suited to :-)
This property has a very handsome fascade, and those columns either side of the door give the place a very grand feel. There is also quite extensive space out front for car parking, but no, I don't think that stunning example of a classic car will be included! To the rear there is an extensive area of lawn and patio. It's a great blank canvas for all the green fingered folks out there.
Moving inside, that hallway and staircase are a jaw droppingly grand entrance and I love the vast expanses of natural wood and panelling used throughout. That's also quite some chandelier hanging down above the stairs, so this is clearly a large space with very good ceiling height if there is clearance enough to hang such a large and decorative light fitting!
Throughout the ground floor there are loads of lovely wooden ceiling beams on show. The rooms are all very good sized, and in particular the kitchen is a very good size.
What I love about this property is that while it could use renovation and updating, nothing is so out of date or run down that it couldn't be lived in and worked on in stages for owner occupiers seeking a project property. So while those kitchen units may not be to everyone's taste perhaps, the kitchen is fully functional and perfectly usable until you decide to get the work done to modernise it. There are lovely features in here, such as the exposed brickwork, and I do hope that the renovation will be done sensitively to ensue these wonderful features survive.
Ok, I have to admit, my jaw dropped when I saw that bathroom in one of the images. Firstly, nope I am not into green bathroom suites, but even I can see how spectacular this room is even taking into account that it now looks dated. That sunken bathtub with the unusual surround, well it's not my thing, but maybe it's yours?? If not, perhaps you will prefer the swimming pool... I know I do. It's a fantastic size for this property, and has a quirky balcony seating area that I'm assuming is adjoining one of the reception rooms.
If swimming isn't your thing, there is also the kind of pool you play on a table too! Actually, it's a snooker table in the image, and it's some size, yet the room is still enormous around it. This space could be used in a multitude of ways. I think rather than continuing the guided tour now, it's probably summarising time to be honest. The remaining images show the more dated elements, such as built in bedroom units, and an unusual bathroom suite with some kind of decoration on the toilet pedestal. There's clearly some unusual angles in the top floor rooms as well, and I'm meaning floors as well as walls....
What I love most about this property, and hope you will too, is the potential and the extent of the blank canvas. There is a very large amount of square footage for the money here, and while yes it's dated, it is also still functioning as it is... it's an achievable project property. I'm not sure how many would want a 10 bedroom house, even with so much going for it, but there is clear potential for sub-division, conversion into perhaps a care home, or use as a B&B/Guest house(stpp).
This one intrigues me. I'd love to be there on auction day to see who snaps this one up, and to discover what will become of it. Perhaps it will pass through our doors again someday, but opportunities like this are few and far between, so if you're interested you'd best get over there on auction day!
