Two idyllic rural homes near Matlock at Derby auction

Two period cottages in a secluded rural setting are being offered as one lot at an auction in Derby on Thursday 21 September.

Middle Cottage and The Bungalow, at Robin Hood, Whatstandwell, near Matlock, have a guide price of £200,000+ at what will be SDL Auctions Graham Penny’s biggest auction in the city for over a year.

Both are two bedroomed properties, with Middle Cottage let on an assured tenancy at £6,240 per annum, while The Bungalow is let on a regulated tenancy at £3,952 per annum.

Robert Stone, senior valuer at SDL Auctions Graham Penny, said: “This is an interesting and rare opportunity to acquire two period properties as one lot, and is likely to attract some strong bidding.

“The properties enjoy an idyllic countryside location within easy reach of the historic spa town of Matlock, and just a short commute from the famous Chatsworth house.

“They present an excellent investment opportunity and could potentially be split to form two separate titles, subject to the usual legal formalities.”

The auction takes place from 11.30am on Thursday 21 September at Pride Park Stadium in Derby.
