Offered jointly with Harwich Village Homes, it went under the gavel at £190,000 freehold at the firm’s auction which ended on Thursday 24 July.
Regional Director & Auctioneer Paul Bridgeman said: “Our purchaser has acquired a house well placed for the seafront, recreational facilities and town centre shops and transportation links.
“Bidders recognised the potential in a three-bedroom property which is in need of general modernisation and improvement. We considered it would make a great family home or could be let to generate a good income once works have been carried out.”

Almost an acre of overgrown land with potential in a village setting near Chelmsford was sold after a bidding war. [pic, lot no 39]
The land, on the south west side of Waltham Road in Boreham went under the gavel at £82,000 after 53 bids were received from two competing bidders.
Extending to 0.39 hectares (0.967 acres), the land fronts Waltham Road to the south of its junction with Holts Lane and backs on to Pads Lake in the village north east of Chelmsford.
Paul Bridgeman said: “This land prompted a classic bidding war which lasted right up until the last minute, concluding with an excellent result for our vendor with the sale price reaching more than £60,000 above the lower freehold guide.
“Our purchaser has acquired land which is largely overgrown with a disused former timber stable building along its northern boundary. However, it may well offer potential for alternative uses, subject to all necessary consents being obtainable.”
