Pearsons joins Auction House team
Award-winning brand Auction House has been joined by Hampshire-based auctioneer Pearsons, increasing the company’s total number of auction rooms nationwide to 37.
Pearsons were established in the year 1900, and are now one of the most successful auctioneers in the area, with a total of 13 agency branches across the region.
Auction House Founding Director Roger Lake, said: “We are delighted to welcome Pearsons to our ranks. They are a significant player in the industry with years of auction experience behind them. This move gives Auction House additional coverage on the south coast – including Southampton, Portsmouth, the Isle of Wight and beyond.”
Auctions will take place in Pearsons’ existing auction room at The Solent Hotel in Whiteley, Fareham. The next sale is scheduled for 18 June 2014 at 11am.
Pearsons’ Auctions Director and auctioneer Toby Wheatley said: “We are very much looking forward to working with the Auction House network and see it as a valuable business relationship that will deliver mutual advantages. The benefit of the Auction House brand is that sellers will know that they are putting their property into a nationally recognised auction. From a buyer’s perspective, they will have access to a larger, more varied and comprehensive catalogue.”
Roger Lake added: “We view this as the coming together of two powerful operators, whose combined strength should enable the businesses to expand faster together. We already have more auction rooms than any other auctioneer in the country, and are entering more residential lots into our May 2014 sales than anyone else.
“Time after time we prove that properties sell for more money when offered in-region. Our new Solent auction room should enable local lots to achieve best price, as well as marking a further step in our continued growth towards comprehensive coverage of the UK.”
