Nearly £200m has been raised by Clive Emson Auctioneers over eight online auctions this year.
The regional land and property auction firm, covering southern England, listed a total of 1,379 lots, with a success rate of more than 70%.
Going into its 37th year, the company also recorded 10,000-plus new bidder registrations.
James Emson, Managing Director, said: “The appetite for bricks and mortar and sites in auction, where transparency and speed are key, remains undiminished despite the best efforts of Westminster to squeeze the pips out of property investors up and down the country.
“Overall this year we raised nearly £200m for clients, with a total of 1,379 lots listed, with more than 70% sold. Such is the interest, we’ve also recorded 10,000-plus new bidder registrations.”
Clive Emson Auctioneers’ final auction of the year in December raised just under £20m for clients from 167 lots listed, covering Essex to Cornwall.
Highlights of the latest auction included a former Adult Education Centre in Gravesend, Kent, selling in a bidding war for £1,523,000 (lot 46 pictured).
Also under the hammer was three acres of land, with planning permission for 15 detached bungalows, at Totland Bay, Freshwater, Isle of Wight – the site went for £1,016,000 (lot 7).
On a festive note, a building used as a postal delivery office in Amesbury, near Salisbury in Wiltshire, occupied by the Royal Mail Amesbury Delivery Office until 2027, fetched £188,000 in a bidding war (lot 39).
