Future Auctions: Sending you to Somerset!
So today we’re going on a trip to Somerset, and this is a perfect example of great things coming in small packages!
This charming property has a wonderful quirky exterior, having originated from conversion of an outbuilding, and it really is well worth taking a moment to really look at the images with this one. There is a multitude of lovely little details and features to this exterior. It doesn't take long to spot those stunning and unusual shaped eaves on the side elevations for example. But my personal favourite is the eye catching use of exposed brickwork as means to highlight and add texture to outer walls, effectively breaking up flat expanses of monotone surface, and this has been done so effectively that it also adds bags of unique character and charm too :-)
This is a striking little property that is surrounded by it's own little blank canvas. There's a large outbuilding, a large patio area, good sized plot overall, and it has a lovely secluded setting due to the long lane approach. Here is a 0.733 acre plot of garden/paddock, and it would be well worth a little time spent raising those surroundings to match the pretty property contained within. So you can really let your imagination loose with this outdoor space, and can make the most of the opportunity to create something that is ideal to your own personal tastes and needs.
Now, before we head inside the house, I'd like to take a minute to say a bit more about that large outbuilding that I mentioned earlier. It really is pretty substantial, which is not immediately clear from simply looking at the images, but the description does let us know that it is similar in scale to a large garage, and has been divided into a workshop and store area. Perfect for those hobbies and interests of course, and ideal for anyone working from home in some kind of hands on way that requires a dedicated workshop/storage setup.
Alternatively, the amount of land could be well suited to a variety of different gardening pursuits such as a kitchen garden or other similar ways to make this a productive space as well as a place to relax and enjoy. There is copious amounts of room here to fit in all the sheds, greenhouses, and veg plots your heart desires!
Right! I guess I should probably tell you a little more about the house itself now...
Well, firstly, I'm sure you picked up on my use of the word 'little' when first describing this property, and especially from the front elevation, you may at first glance think the place is tiny inside.... but don't be fooled by appearances folks! It is a more compact home than some, that's true, but equally so this one seems a good bit bigger inside than you would expect when looking on from the front. This place is ideal for smaller families, for couples, or even for a solo occupant...
What amazed me was the well proportioned rooms it has, and while it looks compact from the front, this property doesn't appear small from inside. Throughout there's fabby features from those gorgeous exterior doors, to the smart fireplace in the reception room, and there is a great neutral palette used throughout. While I know that the wood window frames, skirting boards, and door surrounds may not be to everyone's taste, I am very pleased to see something other than white!
This is a property that somehow manages to have something in there for everyone... and does it whilst also managing to stand out as unique, quirky, and bursting with character throughout. I really like this one, and hope you have enjoyed exploring this rare and wonderful gem of a building along with me. This auction lot is one that will happily have you do as much or as little as you like with it, being ready to move into, while having widespread scope to modify and add to it in a variety of ways so that it meets your every need...
...and I've not even touched on ways that you could potentially expand, or convert that outbuilding! There's plenty land here that may have scope for some kind of planning/development project perhaps? I'll leave you to have your imaginations set loose now. It's worth taking a little time to think of the possibilities with a funky fabby opportunity like this one.
So, good luck if you're there on auction day, as there can only be one winning bidder, and this one is sure to draw interest from far and wide!! ;-)
