Former Royal Sea Bathing Hospital nurses' home for auction
Another part of the Royal Sea Bathing Hospital in Westbrook is to be sold at auction on Tuesday.
The period property has planning permission for conversion into 29 flats with car parking.
The site, once owned by the NHS, is listed for sale with a guide price of £1.1 million.
The adjoining Royal Sea Bathing Hospital is still being converted into 100 apartments and 'beach houses' overlooking the promenade.
The site has been underdevelopment for a number of years after the original developers, Paigle Properties, ran into financial difficulties in the recession.
The auctioneer's site says that the corner property is currently set out as offices with a shared kitchen and toilets on the ground floor.
It adds: "The remaining space comprises separate bedrooms with washbasins and shared bathroom facilities. There is also a passenger lift. The property was used as offices and residential accommodation for nurses working in the adjacent Royal Sea Bathing Hospital.
"The Sea Bathing Hospital is Grade II listed and the Nurses Home falls within the curtilage and thus required listed building consent."
