Former police building will be sold at auction

Former police building will be sold at auction

The site of a former police facility which now has planning permission for two new homes is expected to generate plenty of interest when it goes under the hammer.

The property in Ermine Street South, Papworth Everard, near Cambridge, has a guide price of £250,000, and will be auctioned at Cheffins Property Auction on Wednesday 2nd March.

The site was previously used by Cambridgeshire Constabulary as a police service facility. It currently features two single-storey brick buildings and a single garage.

South Cambridgeshire District Council granted outline planning permission to demolish all buildings on the site and replace them with two detached residential properties, each with gardens and parking.

Cheffins' auctioneer Ian Kitson said: "The 0.32 acre site is located on the southern outskirts of Papworth Everard, surrounded by residential properties of varying ages and types.

"It has outline planning permission for two residential dwellings and is sure to appeal to those who want a high quality development opportunity in a well-regarded village outside Cambridge."

The former police facility is being sold as part of an ongoing strategic review of assets by Cambridgeshire Constabulary.

It is the second auction running in which Cheffins has marketed a site for Cambridgeshire Constabulary, having previously sold a former police interview facility in Bottisham for £505,000.
