Symonds & Sampson’s final auction of 2025 was a true Christmas cracker with fifteen lots under the hammer across six counties.
Auction Partner Meredith Wallis was pleasantly surprised by the prices achieved for garage sites at the auction. “We offered sites in Poole, Wimborne, Wareham, and Portland, all of which generated a tremendous level of interest in the lead up to the auction, with 60 people downloading the legal packs. Some sold at double their guides, others at 220%, 126% and 50% above guides. Local bidders competed against bidders from further afield, all recognising a solid investment opportunity”.
Amongst other lots sold on Friday were:
- Land on the outskirts of Wincanton selling for £10,000 per acre
- Mixed-use investment properties in Blandford and Christchurch, both selling in excess of their guides
- There was great interest in a delightful cottage at Sandford Orcas near Sherborne, in a cottage near Par in Cornwall, and in a house at Amport in Hampshire
The showstopper was one of the most important private residences in Ilminster (pictured), where the guide price of £550,000 was easily exceeded, and the sale concluded 18% above the guide price.
